The marketing services I offer.
Business enhancement and measurable results - a personal tour of the work behind Markus Marketing.
Six disciplines, one specialist - every campaign planned, built and measured by the person who answers your call.
Greetings, and welcome to my journal. I am the digital marketing specialist behind Markus Marketing. Based in Australia, I offer a range of marketing services designed to enhance your business and deliver measurable results - and in this post I want to walk you through each of them, in my own words.
Digital marketing is essential for any business that wants to stay competitive online. With the right strategy you can attract new customers, engage your target audience and build lasting brand awareness. Whether you are a small start-up or a large corporation, I can help you get there through a comprehensive plan built from six services:
- Search engine optimisation (SEO)
- Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
- Social media marketing
- Content marketing
- Email marketing
- Conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
Each plays a distinct role. Here is how I approach them, and what each one can do for your business.

First, what digital marketing actually is
Digital marketing is the practice of using online channels to promote your brand, products or services - and at its heart it is about reaching potential customers in the right place, at the right time, with the right message. When you understand your audience well enough, you can tailor that message to different segments so it genuinely resonates rather than merely arrives.
The other half is engagement. Marketing that talks with customers instead of at them builds the loyal base that keeps a business healthy - and every service below is, one way or another, in service of that.
Search engine optimisation (SEO)
SEO is the craft of helping your website rank higher in search results, because organic search remains one of the most valuable sources of visitors, leads and sales. The work spans thorough keyword research - finding the exact terms your customers use - high-quality content that answers those searches, and on-page fundamentals like meta tags, headings and images.
Search engines also watch how users experience your site, so speed, mobile responsiveness and intuitive navigation all count. SEO is a continuous process rather than a one-off project, which is why I structure it as ongoing optimisation and monitoring. You can read more about my approach on the SEO services page.
Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
PPC puts your offer in front of people at the exact moment they search for it - and you only pay when someone clicks. That makes it one of the most accountable forms of advertising there is: the budget goes to actual responses, not vague exposure.
The targeting is the real power. Location, demographics, interests, even device type - campaigns can be tuned so your ads reach the people most likely to buy. I have created and managed PPC campaigns for businesses of every size, and the details of what I offer are on the PPC services page.
Social media marketing
Industry research puts the number of Australians active on social media well above 18 million, which makes platforms like Facebook and Instagram impossible to ignore for brand awareness. A strong social presence widens your reach through regular posting, contests and influencer partnerships - and it gives customers somewhere to talk to you.
That conversation is the point. Live Q&A sessions, sharing user-generated content, responding to comments and messages - engagement builds the loyal following that broadcasting never will. Add targeted social advertising to drive traffic to specific landing pages, and social becomes a sales channel as well as a brand one. My social media services cover all of it.
Content marketing
I have spent years writing copy, and if that work has taught me one thing it is this: people respond to stories, not slogans. Content marketing is the discipline of creating genuinely useful, engaging material - articles, guides, posts - that builds an emotional connection with your audience and establishes you as an authority in your field.
It starts with research: understanding your audience's needs, interests and pain points, then tailoring content to address them. And it does not end at publishing - promoting that content through social, email and paid channels is what amplifies its impact. The full approach is on my content marketing page.
Email marketing
For customer retention, nothing beats a well-run email program. It is remarkably cost-effective - minimal investment, high return - and segmentation is what elevates it: grouping subscribers by behaviour and preference so every message is personally relevant rather than broadcast.
The craft is in the details: emails optimised for every device, a clear call to action, and the restraint not to spam - fewer, better emails beat frequent, forgettable ones every time. See the email marketing page for how I build these programs.
Conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
CRO is the quiet multiplier on everything above. It is the practice of improving your website's user experience so a higher percentage of visitors take the action you want - a purchase, an enquiry, a booking.
I start by analysing the user journey to find where visitors drop off, then fix what the data points to: design and layout, navigation, checkout friction. A/B testing settles the arguments - two versions compete and the numbers decide. It is also why I build and refine websites as well as market them; traffic you cannot convert is just an expensive audience.
Where to from here
A comprehensive digital marketing strategy is an ongoing process, not a purchase - it needs consistent effort, honest measurement and the flexibility to evolve with the landscape. But the results are measurable, and that is the standard I hold every campaign to.
If you would like any of this applied to your business, tell me about your project through the contact form and I will come back to you with a plain-English plan - what I would do, what it costs and how we will measure it.
